Lumson Revolutionizes Airless Dispensing

At Cosmoprof/Cosmopack in Bologna, Lumson revealed its new cosmetic packaging innovation called TAG-System. TAG, which stands for Techno Airless Glass, is an airless system in a glass bottle—designed, patented and manufactured by Lumson. The Italian-based company claims it is the first in the world to be able to offer such a container; prior to this, says Lumson, airless systems were available only in plastic containers. The TAG-System combines the beauty and luxury of glass with the technical and functional advantages of an airless dispensing system. Bottles are available in 30- and 50ml sizes, and can be decorated using screen printing and hot stamping. They are fully customizable with water-based spray coloring. The dispensing system is available in 250-, 350- and 500mcl dosages; has seven different collars, six overcaps and three actuators to choose from; and pumps and overcaps can be decorated. It is also environmentally friendly, as the plastic can be easily separated from the glass for recycling.

Ameri-Seal Prints PETG Sleeve

Ameri-Seal Inc.’s new heat shrinkable sleeve for the personal care market features primary colors of yellow and red, thanks to Art of Beauty, the creator of Zoom Dry Callus Action. The beauty company enlisted Ameri-Seal’s printing capabilities for its newest PETG shrink film application. Ameri-Seal printed two sleeves, one for a 2oz bottle and one for a 4oz bottle, on rotogravure presses. The PETG sleeves were printed in four colors, including a black area at the top of the sleeve to look like the cap of the bottle. The top of the bottle narrows drastically, making PETG labels the perfect choice for this type of application. PVC/PETG/OPS shrink labels offer 360° coverage, which means more area for graphics and verbiage. The printing is also done inside the label so it won’t run if stored or placed in a wet environment.

Zorbit Creates Fragrance Package

Beth Nonte Russell, author of Forever Lily, engaged the turnkey services of Zorbit Resources to launch her new fragrance. The bottle, supplied by Bormioli Rocco, was inspired by floral lilies, creating the impression of a blooming flower bud. The cap, an interpretation of a bird, flame and flower, is made of Surlyn. To achieve the fine intricacies of the leaf, prior to engineering and manufacturing, Zorbit first had the cap sculpted in clay and 3D scanned. When the secondary packaging, a round, hinged box is open, the bottle is propped up and displayed on a pedestal.
